Records management software in Fredericton

Records management, workflow automation and dispatch software for Fredericton's public sector, agencies and businesses, hosted in Canada.

Built for Fredericton's public sector and businesses

Fredericton is New Brunswick's capital and its knowledge-economy centre: according to the City, more than 70% of the province's knowledge industries call Fredericton home. The Fredericton Fire Department operates four stations, with its main offices at Station 1 on York Street and a training tower built to simulate real-world conditions. Since December 2, 2025, the Fredericton Police Force has also policed newly annexed areas, including Pepper Creek, Douglas, McLeod Hill and Killarney Road, which means more ground, more calls and more records for the same teams.

New Brunswick records and privacy laws

New Brunswick covers provincial bodies and local governments under one access and privacy law, has a separate health information law with a Canadian storage rule for public bodies, and controls the destruction of public records through its Archives Act.

Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RTIPPA)

Applies to provincial departments, schools, health authorities, universities, police forces and local governments, including municipalities, regional municipalities, local service districts and regional service commissions. It sets a 30-day response deadline for access requests and rules for collecting, using and disclosing personal information, and public bodies must notify of privacy breaches. The province announced a review of the act in July 2025.

Who it affects: the City, police, provincial bodies and other local governments.

Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act

Applies to custodians including public bodies, health care providers, regional health authorities, nursing homes and laboratories. Custodians must use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards based on recognized security standards, notify individuals when information is stolen, lost or accessed without authorization, and public bodies must generally store and access personal health information only in Canada. It has been deemed substantially similar to the federal law.

Who it affects: health care providers and health organizations.

Archives Act

Public records may not be destroyed or removed from the Province's control except as the act allows, and records covered by an approved records schedule must be disposed of according to that schedule. The Provincial Archives' Municipal Records Authority sets out how municipalities manage their records.

Who it affects: provincial departments, public bodies and municipalities.

Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

This is the federal private-sector privacy law. New Brunswick does not have its own general private-sector privacy law, so PIPEDA applies to personal information that businesses collect, use or disclose in commercial activity.

Who it affects: New Brunswick businesses.

How The Auxilium Group supports these requirements. The Auxilium Group keeps records in Canada, controls access by role, keeps a history of who created and changed each record, and can hold records for the retention periods you set. Meeting a law is still your organization's responsibility. Tell us which rules apply to you and we will show you how The Auxilium Group would handle them, or tell you plainly where it would not.

This is general information about New Brunswick law, not legal advice. Check the current law and your own obligations with your legal or privacy advisor.
